  1. Hillary,
You reminded me of what I need to do as I look to the future. As I finish my Masters and look forward to the future and what to do with my career it’s easy to be scared of this and just stay where I’m at. As Nelson M. said we are stars made in the image of God and we need to shine out and use the gifts we’ve been given. I need to seek out where I could be of benefit with what we’ve learned.
I agree with you about the blame game. It’s so easy to fall into that category and not look for the possibilities. Great job, I enjoyed your reflection.

  2. That was a very moving quote; I cannot wait to get to that section. To not judge, not blame, it would make the world a better place. We all as educators try to help our students become better people as a whole, as well as better educated. It frustrates me when people say: “Oh, you just teach music, it must be nice to just sing songs all day.” I would love a day where I could just sing all day, alas that never happens. During any specific lesson, we as educators have to correct a student’s manners, spark their interest, justify our programs, and help them become better people as a whole. I am sure you get the same reaction as an Art teacher. I enjoy shaping every student and this book has really sparked that passion in me again.
